LED Illustration as LED Lights for your Presentation or websiteSigns are true marvels when it comes to your marketing spend, because they give a shout out in rain or shine –  24 hours a day, seven days a week. And they also do double duty, both helping patrons find a specific merchant amid a cacophony of signage, as well as sending out a wink to passersby.

Even so, many merchants tend to forget about their signage, because it blends into the background of a busy day. When was the last time that you really looked at your sign? You’ve undoubtedly passed by it, or under many times a day, but have you taken a good look at it lately? Ask yourself these four questions:

  1. Has your sign faded from UV exposure? Sign degradation sneaks up on many a merchant, because the sign owner doesn’t notice subtle changes that occur from those damaging solar rays.
  2. Is your sign still relevant? If you sell gasoline, that’s not a trendy item. But what if you sell fashionable merchandise? Even colors and shapes in marketing tend to shift over time. And as younger consumers grow older, their tastes in preferred decor changes, too. You’ve probably updated the furnishings in your shop, but neglected the sign – the one place outside your store that brands your business.
  3. Has your business shifted its focus? If more than five years have passed, it’s quite possible that your store hours may have changed while your sign hasn’t. If you just tacked up a quick paste-over change of hours, you’ve missed an opportunity to connect with consumers in a fresh way. Get the whole sign redone.
  4. Are you lagging behind in signage technology? Old-fashioned lighting sucks up energy like an early-model automobile. Just as technology has improved fuel efficiency for drivers, illumination technology has leaped ahead ‘light’ years from those older illuminated signs. Switching to LEDs could save you a bundle on energy costs.
